An ICB Course is a business course. An ICB Course will help equip you with practical skills and knowledge in financial accounting, income tax, bookkeeping, financial management, corporate strategy, reporting standards, research and management accounting.
Are ICB Qualifications Recognised?
Yes, ICB Qualifications are recognised by employers internationally and nationally. Here is a list of the internationally recognised professional bodies:

What Is An ICB Qualification?
An ICB Qualification is awarded to a student once they have completed an ICB Programme or Course. ICB Qualifications could be any of the following:

The Benefits Of Doing An ICB Course
Your options are endless, once you have obtained an ICB Qualification. Each qualification opens up doors to different career opportunities. When furthering your studies, your chances of getting employment increases, and you will earn more money as well.

- As an example, if you have completed an Office Administration: ICB National Diploma, the following jobs such as; Administrative Assistant Manager and Office Assistant Manager becomes available for you
- Furthering your studies
- As an example; if you have obtained an Office Administration: ICB National Certificate, you can then proceed to complete the Office Administration: ICB Higher Certificate and then go on to complete the Office Administration: ICB National Diploma
- You could further your studies by completing another ICB Programme
- As an example, if you have achieved the entire Office Administration: ICB Programme, you can proceed to complete another ICB Programme, such as the Business Management: ICB Programme.
Keep in mind that if you have completed an entire ICB Programme and proceed to complete another ICB Programme, you will not experience a repeat of the same subjects.
How We Will Assess You With The ICB Course:
We will assess you through the Portfolio of Evidence and the final exam. The Portfolio of Evidence includes the following:
- Answer Books
- Administrative Guide
- Assignments
- Open-book Tests
For each open-book test and assignment, you are required to achieve 50% to qualify for the final exam. These are the two ways you can write your final exam:
- Paper-based exam
- Online Exam
You are required to achieve 60% in total, to pass the subject. This means you will receive a Portfolio of Evidence for each subject that you have.
Adult Matric
Adult Matric is a course offered for people who are 21 years old and older, who wish to obtain a Matric Certificate, which could be used to further your studies as well. The Adult Matric course will educate you on getting ready to further your studies. Once you have completed the course, you will be awarded the Senior Certificate (Amended). This certificate can be used when seeking employment or when wanting to further your studies at a tertiary institution.
It is mandatory that you meet the following requirements to study the Adult Matric course:
- You must have passed Grade 9 and have proof; such as a report OR
- You should have completed a Grade 9 Equivalent course, such as an ABET Level 4 Certificate that includes two official languages
- You should be able to cope with studying via distance learning
- You can apply at the age of 19 and start studying in the meanwhile
- You are 21 years of age or older when you write your final exams
- You should have the ability to read, write and understand English
Is Adult Matric And Normal Matric The Same?
Yes. There is no significant difference between Adult Matric and Traditional Matric. The only difference between the two is that Adult Matric is studied through a college, by someone who is 21 years of age and older.
Traditional Matric, on the other hand, is studied in high school by a student that is under the age of 21. Whether you study any one of these courses, you will obtain the exact same qualification. When you have completed your Adult Matric with us, you will receive a Matric Certificate from Umalusi.
The terms will change from Adult Matric Certificate to Senior Certificate (Amended). The Traditional Matric Certificate is also known as the National Senior Certificate, but these certificates remain the same.

How Long Does The Adult Matric Course Take?
The Adult Matric Course takes at least one to three years. You as a student can study at your own pace. The Adult Matric Course consists of six subjects. Students can divide the subjects as follows:
- From the six subjects, study three for two years each
- From the six subjects, study two subjects for three years each
- Or complete all six subjects in one year
